Memorable Outings – Shopping and a Visit to Craigie’s Farm

At Struan Lodge, we understand how important it is to offer our residents exciting opportunities to get out and enjoy new experiences. Recently, we arranged two delightful outings that brought joy, relaxation, and plenty of fresh air to our residents.

The first outing took five residents and three staff members to the picturesque Craigie’s Farming Café. Nestled in a peaceful rural setting, Craigie’s provides the perfect environment for our residents to enjoy a change of scenery. Whether it was strolling around the farm or sitting back to take in the stunning views, the trip offered a refreshing break from the usual routine. The experience not only enhanced our residents’ well-being but also gave them the chance to connect with each other and staff members in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere – plenty of time for a good blether!

Next, we took our residents to the Gyle Shopping Centre, where they indulged in some light-hearted plant shopping and treated themselves to delicious ice cream. The outing offered more than just a chance to shop; it was an opportunity for residents to experience the joy of choosing something new and enjoy the simple pleasure of being out and about. These trips have proven to be uplifting, fostering social interaction, and contributing to improved physical mobility through light activities such as walking and sightseeing.

Our residents were absolutely thrilled with both outings, and these experiences helped to lift their spirits and enhance their overall mood. Whether in the fresh air or enjoying each other’s company, these outings are a vital part of our commitment to enhancing our residents’ quality of life.
