A Memorable Mother’s Day at Struan Lodge Care Home

Mothers day

Struan Lodge Care Home was recently filled with joy and heartfelt moments as residents came together to celebrate Mother’s Day with a beautifully arranged afternoon tea party. The lounge and dining areas were transformed into a charming space, decorated with vibrant banners, fresh flowers, and delicate table settings that added a special touch to the occasion.

Our talented chef prepared a delicious selection of home-baked cakes, which were thoroughly enjoyed by all. The event created a warm and welcoming atmosphere, where residents spent the afternoon reminiscing, sharing stories, and enjoying each other’s company. Laughter and conversation flowed freely, making it a truly memorable day for everyone involved.

The purpose of the celebration was not only to honour the incredible mothers and mother figures in our home but also to offer a meaningful break from the usual daily routine. It was a moment to make our residents feel cherished and appreciated, while fostering connection and community spirit.

In addition to the tea party, residents also enjoyed outings to Saughton Park and a scenic barge trip in Ratho - both of which offered fresh air, beautiful views, and plenty of smiles. These experiences helped to make the week extra special and brought even more joy to everyone involved.

Events like these offer more than just fun - they bring real benefits to the emotional well-being of our residents. The tea party encouraged social interaction, lifted spirits, and reminded everyone of the importance of recognising and valuing one another’s life experiences and roles within the home.

At Struan Lodge, we believe in making every day special. From thoughtful celebrations to compassionate care, our team is dedicated to creating a nurturing environment where residents feel valued and at home.
